November 2022 - July 2025
I started my first job out of college at a 6 person that eventually grew to 24 at its peak before shutting down. NewAtlantis Labs was created by a pair of co-ceos who had a vision of providing marine protected areas (MPAs) with a sustainable revenue model through biodiversity credits. It had many pivots as start-ups do and at the end we were creating a marine-first bioinformatics platform.
With a start-up of that size, I took on any role that could help the company grow and succeed. I first joined as a community manager and social media manager where I was in charge of our online presence. I ran the company's TikTok, X, Medium, YouTube, email marketing and website. I used our online presence to establish credibility in the marine conservation space by creating informational threads about relevant scientific papers that helped us to recruit members of our science team.
When our focus shifted away from establishing a public brand, I took on the role of technical project manager and eventually senior project manager. In this role, I led capacity planning meetings for each quarter with our engineering and science teams, created project/product roadmaps for the teams with Asana/Jira, and routinely met with stakeholders to manage expectations and outcomes.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have been a part of this small start-up that consisted of people from Uruguay, Spain, Colombia, Japan, Canada, Brazil, Switzerland, and the US. I learned how to effectively communicate across multiple time zones and cultures. From these 3 years, I have become an experienced cross-functional leader with a background spanning scientific research, engineering, digital content, and AI. Known for organizing complex projects into actionable roadmaps, aligning technical and scientific teams, and using tools like Jira, HubSpot, and GitHub to drive operational excellence. I'm passionate about impactful innovation—from ocean health to next-gen computing.

I interned at Whym., formerly known as Petalfox. At the small financial tech startup, I learned an incredible amount from the CEO, Kelly Nyland, and COO, Rhenee Bartlett. At the time, the company was focused on, and still is, conversational commerce. This meant that they would use software in order to mass-text customers pictures of a bouquet of flowers or other self-care items and the customer would reply with whether or not they would want to purchase that week's bundle with just an emoji.
My day-to-day would be spent updating shipping and operations spreadsheets in order to manage inventory of hard goods, help procurement, deal with customer requests, reach out to potential businesses to partner with, interact with followers and other on social media, and help with any other tasks available. My main tasks throughout my internship were working on and maintaining a product attribute report where I was able to find key insights into what type of flowers were driving sales, spearheading their B2B efforts in order to get businesses to purchase subscriptions to their service, and conducting a user study on what type of potential customers might use the service.
I am very grateful to work with such passionate, hardworking, and intelligent women that taught me a lot about what it means to run a successful startup. I gained useful experience with spreadsheets, forecasting, customer support and experience, and sales, as well as my debut in my modeling career. (see below).
June 2021 - August 2021
I worked on an educational children's website called Virtual Galapagos as part of a summer research program with my college, Colgate University. It was an impactful and important experience for me in the post-covid era of the world as it was completely remote. Working with a team of other programmers that were based in New York while I was in LA proved to be challenging at times. Thankfully, the faculty advisor, Karen Harpp, was kind enough to schedule our daily meetings at a reasonable hour for her west-coast teammate.
The project was to think about and create an educational website with the tools and knowledge Karen had gathered on her many school trips to the Galapagos with past students. Working with a small group of fellow students, we met daily to formulate the best experience for children to learn about different modules regarding "the mysteries of the Galapagos". It was an incredibly rewarding and creative experience. Each meeting was a way to express myself and my experiences as a kid and we eventually decided as a team to gamify the process. Together we would map out the flow of the website and think about what would help the kids understand and stay engaged with the material. I worked with my fellow programmers and learned HTML, CSS, and React.js in order to create components for the website.
I collaborated with the team on Figma to think of the best flow for the website and I created a backpack component in order to store information inside for the kids.
Staying after work to help model the bouquets.
What a gorgeous arm!
